Hello and welcome to Unshakable with Human Design. Everyone, welcome. I’m Nicole Laino, your host, and I am so excited to be here with you guys today. I’m feeling all jazzed. I’m feeling kind of excited. We are wrapping up our final Authority Accelerator masterclass. It’s kind of amazing. This is the end of an era for me and for my team. So in this episode today, so the last episode that I did, I talked about how a lot of entrepreneurs get really stuck in the strategic stuff. They think it’s a strategy problem. Okay, I just need to know how to do reels. I just need to know how to launch. Okay, launches aren’t working now. I need to know how to do an email launch. I need to grow my list. There’s all the strategies that they think that they need.
And I talked about the energetic side of things, how we have to change our way of being in order to really start to get the results that the strategies, if they aren’t working and you are doing a lot, but you don’t see the results that you probably have an energetic problem that needs to be addressed. Now in today’s episode, I want to flip it and I want to talk about. Some people feel like healing is all they need, that energetic work is all they need. And they shy away from the strategy. And I see this a lot and I see this particularly with the spiritual crowd. All I need is to heal. And that’s unfortunately. No, that’s honestly, it’s what keeps a lot of people broke is that they avoid the strategic work.
And I work with a lot of psychics and healers and people who are really gifted at the energetic side of things. And they come into business by design and we start to work with them on the strategy and things start to work for them. They actually start to sell their stuff and it feels so great. And it’s not the most natural work for them to do the strategic stuff, but it is the thing that creates results for them. Now you might say, Nicole, you just did an episode on why energy matters more. No, it doesn’t matter more. It’s a balance. Masculine, feminine, we need this. We need this in the world.
You know, I look at our politics, we are so one sided with politics, where it’s so tribal, where we go like, you know, oh, we need all the Republican stuff or, oh, we need all the Democratic stuff. And you know, we swing from one major polarity to the other. And the truth is that we need balance. We need caring and nurturing and energetic work and feminine energy and flow and openness. And we also need strategy and focus and consistency and determination. We need those things. Now, what that looks like for you is going to be different. And I said this before, which is that a lot of people will see that there are some boss babes going out there and talking about how, you know, embracing my soft turtle era. And I’m all about that for those people. You know why?
Because they hustled their asses off and burned themselves out and fried their nervous system where, yeah, soft girl era is what brought them into balance. They took all of that strategic work and drive and everything and they balanced it with energetic work and now they feel good. Now they feel like they have a life that they love. But when we see people lean on the energetics too much and then they hear someone who makes eight figures a year saying that embracing their soft girl era is what made all the difference for them and that’s how they increase profit and that’s how they. That’s not the thing that you need. You’re already soft girling it. You need a little bit more of the masculine energy.
And I’ve seen that with some of our clients in business by design, where we don’t teach you to do masculine in the like, you know, we’re not giving you like the 10x kind of framework. I’m not telling you to max out. I am not telling you that it has to be, you know, 24. Seven of go, go and drive and chill. No, that’s not how we approach it. We have a very feminine sort of aspect and approach to this. It’s still a female run business. It’s just, I want you to make money.
And I see this with spiritual entrepreneurs all the time, where they’ve done all of the healing work, they’ve done the meditations, the breath work, they’ve been on shamanic journeys, they’ve gone and done ayahuasca, they’re rewiring their beliefs and they keep doing that work and then they post things and they put things out there and they put a message out there. Maybe they start a podcast and they put their episodes out there, but they get saves, they get shares, they get likes, they get people telling them that they’re so inspiring, but their bank account is still not what it should be. They’re not getting the results, they’re not seeing conversions. And the key here is that energy alone doesn’t create sales. Those women that are embracing soft Girl era know how to sell. That’s what they built their whole career on.
And then they burnt out and they’re like, oh, maybe I need to like breathe. But if you’ve been doing all this other stuff, then breathing isn’t the problem. You breathe every morning. You are, you are a master at this part, at the energetic part. But we also have like, where people silo these things, they heal in a vacuum. And that’s where, you know, we end up not really healing the right things and we wonder why we still run into problems. So I want to break all of this down. I want to break down kind of, you know, the difference between inspiration and conversion. The gap that we create there so much with our content and with we put out. So you’re doing all this work to create all this content and put things out there and you’re wondering why people don’t buy from you.
You’re wondering why you’re not seeing results. And I get it. I have been there. And you know, you keep hearing all of these things like, you are so inspiring, which sounds good, but you can’t eat that. I can’t pay my bills with, you know, an inspiring comment, right? I need dollars. So I need to create offers that people want. I need to create content that tells people that those offers exist and tell them how it can help them. So what happens often is that a lot of people are speaking to the soul, but not to the problem. Right? And we need both. We don’t want to be too masculine in our content where we’re only talking about that stuff because then it starts to feel like we are missing from it. This is why balance exists. This is why I teach a balanced approach.
But I want to talk to you about this lack of strategy that we see so often. So we get people, we write content and we create content. And when I say content, I mean social media content, podcast content, YouTube content, emails, all of it. Whatever you’re putting out, I consider content. So you create this beautiful content that makes people feel, but it doesn’t make them act. They don’t take action. And this is that missing bridge between what resonates with people and what they need, what will actually have them part with their hard earned dollars. The energetic side might get you visible, but it’s the strategy behind it that is going to convert people. Like, being magnetic is wonderful. And I know that a lot of people look to human design because they want to be magnetic. And we do, because magnetism attracts attention.
Magnetism gets people kind of pulled into your message. But the attention part does not pay your bills. The attention part does not guarantee conversions. And here’s the other thing. You can get that. And maybe you’ve bought from people like this, where that attention part drew you in, but it actually, when you bought from those people, there was nothing behind it. Those people didn’t know how they could solve your problem because they were so focused on magnetism. They were so focused on the image and the brand that they didn’t focus on when people actually buy, we really giving them any value. And we don’t want to create that. I don’t want to create that for my clients. Like, that is one thing I pride myself on.
What you see out here is what you get behind the curtain, only you get more of me, and you get me focused on you. So if you love my show and you love how I speak, and you love how I teach, and you love what I dive into, and something like this speaks to you. If you get into business by design, you’re going to be like, oh, my God, I’m so happy, because this is exactly what I was looking for. I was. She’s exactly who I thought she was, and this is exactly what I thought we would do. But you need to know how to turn attention into clients. That is a skill that every entrepreneur needs. I ask so many entrepreneurs, how do you get clients right now? And a lot of them tell me through word of mouth. And that’s wonderful.
I believe in that. That’s a wonderful validation that your work is beautiful and helps people. But unless you have so much of a network built that way, where you’ve had so many past clients who are sending you referrals, it’s usually not terribly predictable. And that can cause us to have these feast or famine months where, you know, like, oh, I got two clients, Yay. And then the next month you get zero. And we don’t want that. We want it to be repeatable. We want it to be like, to me, if I post content, I want to know that it’s drawing somebody closer to buying from me. Every time I post, somebody is making the decision whether I’m their person. And this is where a lot of certainly spiritual entrepreneurs get stuck. Now, here’s the other thing about the healing part.
So a lot of people will heal, and they will do that healing work where they’re like, oh, I’ll go on a retreat and we’ll do breath work for days, and we’ll have these, like, breakthroughs and these moments. But there’s almost like it’s like you’re stepping outside of your real life. And that’s wonderful. Cause that’s like an escape. That’s a deep, like, healing journey that you’re going on. But how many people, like, maybe you’ve done this, where you have gone one of those retreats, felt different there. And then you came home and you’re like, oh, but I have all the same problems. And you know, people can really fall into a trap with this. And then they think that they need to heal some more. So they come back, it’s not working.
They’re like, oh, well, now I need to go find somebody else who can help me. Maybe it’s this healing modality and the healing becomes a crutch as well. And I see this with people where they’re like, I need to heal more before I’m ready. You know, they can fall into that trap. They can go get certified in something else. This is what a lot of healers do. We get certified in another healing modality and it’s really just procrastination and you don’t need to heal more. Here’s the shift that I want to give you and why the energy plus strategy together is so powerful. Because you don’t need to heal more, but you do need to heal what comes up. So here’s how I think about this. We create meaningful growth because we’re not healing. I’m not doing more healing work.
I’m not just healing more. I’m actually healing what is presented to me through the obstacles that show up. So if I’m working in my business, I’m not like joining a three month program and healing a bunch of stuff. What I’m doing is I’m working in my business and I’m noticing what obstacles I hit. I’m noticing what comes up. Okay, I’m having trouble doing this. This isn’t working. What inside of me could be coming up and interfering here? What needs to be witnessed, what needs to be healed, what needs to be felt, what don’t I want to feel? I can’t bring myself to launch my podcast. I’m procrastinating on that. That can be both a strategic and a healing problem. We need to address both. The obstacle is the way some spiritual people will never take enough strategic steps that they hit an obstacle.
They’ll just keep healing. They’ll just keep looking for the passive way. But they need more active participation in their business. They won’t hit the obstacles because they’re afraid to hit the obstacle. They want to avoid all the obstacles. Through healing and doing all this other stuff, you know, growing their identity and all of this stuff. But if you don’t put it into practice, you’ve never really tested it. You’ve never really put the car on the road. So how do you know how well it drives? Right? So the way that I work, how it actually works, how you actually see meaningful growth, not just feeling better, but meaningful growth is you combine the strategic with the energetic. You launch the thing, you hit resistance, then you heal what comes up. Now you’ve grown in a very specific, strategic way.
You raise your prices, you feel unworthy, you work through that, you heal that feeling. The doing leads to the healing. You get on a sales call, you freeze up, you heal that real growth happens in the arena of life, not on a meditation cushion. I wish it did. I love to meditate and I love being on my meditation cushion. But that is not where all the growth happens. It happens out in the world. And I told this story about my son. He’s been in Taekwondo for a couple years now. He’s been on this competition team within his studio for a year. They picked him for that. And he’s been in practice for a really long time. And they do sparring in there, and they work out and they do all of these drills.
And then we took him to his first competition, and he lost. And he lost bad. Like, the other kid had obviously competed before. That was what was obvious. It wasn’t that the kid has. Maybe he did this longer. Maybe he had more experience, like, years on. My son, maybe he was a little bit older. But what was very clear was this kid had been in the ring before and my son hadn’t. Not in this way. My son didn’t know how to score points. He knew how to kick, he knew how to punch, he knew how to do all the moves, but he didn’t know what it was like to really have an opponent and to score points. He was kicking. He wasn’t landing the way he needed to score points. This is what I see with entrepreneurs all the time.
This is what I see, is that they don’t know how to. They’re in student mode. They’re learning, they’re healing, they’re in the background, they’re on the bench, and they’re not in the arena. And they wonder why. When they step out into the arena for like a second, they get kicked, it hurts. And then they run away and they avoid. And then they’re like, oh, I gotta go study some more. No. My son, in order to become A real competitor is going to have to compete in order to become a real businesswoman or business person. In order to have multiple six figure business, in order to have a business that pays you regularly, you got to treat it like a business and you’ve got to show up and you got to get in the arena every single day. Now, that might look different some days.
There might be some days where I got my ass kicked and I have a lot of healing to do. So maybe today is the day that I’m going to do that. And then some days are going to be creative days and some days are going to be free days where you’re actually giving yourself space. And some days are going to be really productive days. When I say getting in the arena, I mean you’re showing up for your bi, for what your business specifically needs that day and you are holding yourself accountable to it. I wondered for a long time if I was healed enough. And the key was I had to heal while I was doing the work. I had to get in the arena. And it’s why I put eft, my deconditioning tool of choice, my healing tool of choice, into bbd.
Because I know how important this work is. I know that people, you know, you get scared. Oh, not enough people have signed up for my launch. Okay, well, deal with the feelings that you have around that because if you don’t, it’s going to cause you to do things and show up in a way that are not going to serve you. So how can we get the best result possible for ourselves? How can we continue to show up as the best version of ourselves? I believe that triggers and things that happen in our lives are opportunities for growth. It’s the universe pointing to a spot and saying, here, deal with this feeling, deal with this. That’s the energetic piece that you’re being asked to clear. But it only comes through if you take the steps strategically.
So you need the strategy, you need to know how to sell, you need to take those steps. You cannot sit on the sidelines and expect to win the match. But unfortunately a lot of people are doing that. I’ll just learn a little bit more. It’s why I did not create Business by Design as a teaching program. There’s some teaching in there, but it’s an implementation based program. We want you active, we want you out there trying things, testing things, because that’s how you’ll grow. That’s how we create tremendous transformation in a year versus incremental growth. We can change who you are in a year and if you can change who you are in a year, you can change your results very quickly. So we have to do two things here. We have to learn some strategy and we have to apply energetic tools.
When we hit strategic walls, remember, the obstacle is the way. So when we’re talking about content, like some of the work that people need to do is learn how to sell their stuff. They have to learn to articulate their value. Some of that will be energetic. They’re going to have to step into that bigger identity. They’re also going to have to be able to explain what they do in a way that people understand how it solves a problem for them. Because that’s why people buy. You know, I help people align with their purpose. Okay, how? Why do they need to align with their purpose? We have to answer these questions. If we want people to part with their dollars, they won’t buy the inspiring thing. A few years ago they would have.
A few years ago you could sell inspiring and people bought it because I think people were just really high on that stuff. And what they’ve seen now is they’ve gotten wise to the fact that a lot of people sold them snake oil or it wasn’t exactly what they thought it would be. And they’re more cautious now. They’re waiting before they trust people. They’re not just blindly giving it away. And if you can explain how you solve their problem, if you can explain their problem better than they understand it, then they might start thinking of you as the person who can actually solve it for them. So you can’t say things like, I help you step into your power. You can’t just say that. You’ve got to tell them what that means. What does it look like for them to not be in their power?
What will it look like when they are in tangible ways? And I know, like I said, this doesn’t naturally come to a lot of people. It didn’t naturally come to me. I used to say stuff like that. Let me help you get to your next level. I would say that now. I can say that, but I say it with a whole lot of context so people understand what I’m talking about. It’s why I love this show. I have more time and space to talk about these things. I have a much more intimate connection with you on Instagram and short form content. I don’t love it because I think it doesn’t leave a lot of room for nuance.
You have either have to be so to the point that some people can, you know, you can be Forced to sort of feel a little hyperbolic because you’ve gotta be so snappy with the way that you’re talking on there. I don’t love it. I love this. I love this because I can give you the whole story. I can tell you what it’s really about. Right. You know, because the high vibe language, you know, it’s not enough on its own. We have to be able to tell people. If we want them to invest thousands of dollars with us, then we’ve got to tell people what it will do for them, what we can do for them. I’ll help you parent happy kids. Okay, that’s a start. But let’s talk about how we can really make that feel real for someone.
How are they not happy now? What do they wish they could change? What’s the dream they have for their kids? You’ve got to get into that. And when you do, you’ll start noticing people start leaning in. When you talk about what you do. This is also. I don’t just mean this in content, when you meet people out in the world, when you join a networking call and we all have to say, like, tell everybody what you do and how you help people. You have 30 seconds. You have to be able to do that in a way that gets people to lean in and go, ooh, I want to know more.
When I go to networking events, I know that if the right people are in that room, my people, then I know if I talk to them and I tell them what I do, that I can get them leaning in and get them interested, and I can at least get them to take a next step with me. And the next step that I want them to take from me is to listen to this show, because then they get to go deeper. And this show is built to build demand for my products, for the things that I sell. So you actually, you got to know the problem that you solve, and then you have to allow people to see themselves in your message and what it’ll look like after they work with you. A lot of people don’t even know what that is.
Like, the coaches, the content creators, the people that I’m, you know, you. A lot of people I work with, when I ask them those questions, they don’t know or they say things like, well, it’s so different for everybody. It’s not as different as you’re making it seem. That’s a way of you avoiding actually doing the work. So what I’m trying to say here is growing a business that is profitable, feels good, is built On a few necessary pillars, human design can show your unique gifts. It can really tune you in and get that energetic game playing. On a whole other level, the deconditioning work is going to detach you from unhelpful patterns and energy that is having you attract things that you don’t want versus the things that you do.
A strategic message will translate your gifts into something that solves somebody’s problem, something practical so that they can understand how you can help. All of this is required energy and strategy equals results. This is how we create a repeatable business. Because every time you open your mouth and talk about your business, it should be selling your business honestly. Every time you talk about anything that you do, it should be selling your business. And the more you understand this, the strategic side of it, the more you steep yourself in the value of what you do, the more naturally it comes out, the more it’s the way you talk about your business. When I talk to somebody about my business, I can listen to them and hear what they’re going through.
And the way that I talk about my business after hearing their story might shift a little bit. I might choose to put something else, put one of my pieces of what I do in the front because I think it’ll serve the most. That’s the power of knowing this is that on the fly you can be. I call this pitchless selling. I’m not pitching you at all. Some of my best clients have been me having conversations where I met them at an event, had a chat, and they’re just like, oh my God, she gets me. I, I get where I need to go. And this is the woman who can take me there. And it’s just because I talk to them about what I do in a way that I interpreted. They need it. That’s power. That’s where the sale takes care of itself.
There’s zero icky feeling. They are served, they’re excited, they show up to work with you, be feeling so invigorated and so ready to work and you feel like it’s magic. That’s what this is. But you have to do that work first. So this is what we do inside bbd. This is what we do. We do all of this, the energy, the strategy, and we help you get those results. We take you through the human design, all of the human design alignment piece, the human design branding piece, really digging into those gifts, making your shadows, your superpowers, flipping them into gifts and showing you how you sell them and then showing you how you actually sell what you Do. How is your expertise marketable to people so that people know that you are the person for them. Energetically you’re showing up as the person.
You’re able to confidently show up expanded in your identity of who you are and how you serve people. And you’re able to explain it in a way where people are like, oh my God, I gotta work with them. And then we show you how to put it on what I call an authority platform like this. My podcast is an authority platform. We take you through. Okay, you’ve got a message now. Okay, let’s get it out to more people. Let’s get it out there so consistently that you have a body of work that people can go back to, fall in love with you and sign up with you, maybe without ever talking to you or show up to your sales calls 90% sole. That’s the power of this work. That is what we do inside business by design. And I do it all with you.
