 Hello and welcome to Unshakeable with Human Design, everyone. I’m your host, Nicole Laino, and we are here with another solo episode together right here at the start of the year. It’s January, and I think we’re all trying to figure out how do we improve our results this year? How do we make 2024 better than 2023 was?

And I know that for a lot of people, 2023 was a challenge. It was a big challenge, and we’ve learned, hopefully, and grown from it, and we’re looking at 2024 with a little bit more hope, right? We’re looking at it and saying, I know I can do better. I know that there are things that can be improved, and depending on who you are and what your situation is, there’s gonna be different things that you want to improve.

But if you follow human design, if you listen to this show, you are probably looking for some way to do one of two things. You’re either looking to human design to know how to align more with my purpose and be more in flow. Maybe you have the money, maybe things are going really well in your business but you’re overworking and you’re trying to figure out how can I do it better?

How can I expand myself? And then, the other way that you might be looking to improve is you might be looking to amplify your business results. You might be wondering how do I create more abundance in my life. And some of you might be trying to do both.

I think that’s the goal, how do we become more aligned. And when we say aligned, when you’re moving in the direction of your purpose, when you are moving in flow, life just feels better. And this is the concept behind human design and why it works, it’s not magic, it is putting you in the right place at the right time, so that you are connecting with the right people, and you are open in that space.

So when you’re operating correctly according to your human design, you start to just collide and bump into the things that are meant for you. And they ultimately help you along your purpose. And everything that we’re talking about, it’s rooted in wanting more, right? I want more money, I want more freedom, I want more time with my family, I want more adventure in my life, I want to taste life more, I want to live more.

And that can be hard to do, because a lot of us feel like in order to get something we have to lose something. Even if you’ve done a lot of personal development work and feel like you’ve overcome it, there’s always this little bit of us that says, in order to have more, I’m gonna have to give something up.

Usually we’re not conscious of that thought. It’s operating on a subconscious level or a completely unconscious level that’s saying to us, you can’t have that, or if you make more money, if you take on more clients, if you get more, then you’re going to have to lose time with your kids.

You’re gonna have to sacrifice time with your husband. You’ll get more money, but you’re gonna be burnt out and tired. And maybe that’s because you’ve experienced that before. I know I have. Several times in my life. In different industries, in different situations, where I have run myself into the ground.

But that’s the beauty of human design, and that’s what we use it for, is to give us a new way of operating so that we don’t run headfirst into old patterns. So, if you’re approaching 2024 with the strategic planning that we’re all doing, and I recommend that.

I want to be really clear here that this is not a show that tells you that all you have to do is just align and not do anything in order to make money. Now it’s true, some designs have less to do than others. They are here to be more open. And some of us have a lot to do and it’s going to be really natural for us to want to do things.

So when people are told you need to lean back more, it’s actually not correct for some of us. So that’s the beauty of this work is that it tells you when to hit the gas, where to hit the gas, and when to lean back and coast. And who is that best for? So while you’re strategically planning out your year, which is a wonderful thing to do, if that’s where all of your energy is going, if you’re just like, I have to tick all the boxes, I have to have my launch schedule all done, I have to have all my content planned. If you are in that energy already, if you are already in uber strategic planning mode, and that’s where all of your energy is going, then I want you to recognize that you are aligning with that belief, you are manifesting it, you are creating it, you are reinforcing the belief that hard work equals more money.

And it’s not me saying that it doesn’t. Of course, if you work more, a lot of times you will make more money. That is true. I don’t know if you’ll be terribly happy when you get it. And it’s not always true. There’s lots of people who are working themselves to the bone and not getting the results.

That’s happening too, all over the place. I mean, I don’t know what they paid the people who dug holes under my house this summer to replace our plumbing. I don’t think that they made as much money as me, and they worked a heck of a lot harder. And I’m not saying that’s right, I’m just saying that belief needs to be challenged, and it needs to be challenged in you first.

We need to challenge these unconscious beliefs that we have, so that we can stop living unconsciously chasing them, and believing them, and manifesting them. Let’s bring that term manifesting down to earth a little bit. Because we can amplify our results with manifesting techniques. A lot of it is very much personal development work.

It’s a new elevation of personal development work, that’s the energetic work behind the other work that we’re doing. The problem is that so many of us put the other work, the strategic work, on such a high pedestal, put all of our energy into it, and then, for those of us that have an undefined root center, the pressure of that list that we’ve created, those goals that we’ve created, the pressure moves us to never stop moving.

And we become unconscious to the fact that we are driven by something that’s not correct for us. It doesn’t mean that the goals aren’t right. It just means that the place that it’s coming from and the energy that we’re in when we’re doing it, it’s probably not going to create the results that we want.

And we’re going to burn ourselves out. And that’s not at all how we should be starting a new year. Instead, my goal with this episode is to show you how you can amplify your results for 2024 by focusing on two distinct areas. And this still does involve you doing the strategic work, showing up for yourself, being visible, doing all the things that we are taught to do and that you are probably already doing, hopefully.

We just want you to do them better. We just want you to do them more efficiently. And that’s really what we’re going to be talking about. I’m going to show you the two areas, and I’m going to give you five little tips, five ways that I look at these areas for each one. So I’m going to show you the two paths, the two muscles we need to build, the two areas that need focus in order for you to truly amplify your results where you’re not sacrificing in order to get.

Where you are expanding yourself so that you can create greater results in all areas of your life. That it doesn’t have to be my family suffers if my business thrives and vice versa. It doesn’t have to be like that. And I’ll tell you, the entire second half of last year, of 2023, we were renovating my house.

We had a lot going on here. We had to move out of our house unexpectedly. We did not know that would have to happen. We were out of here for over a month. And then it was chaos here, where every time I sat down to work it felt like there was a contractor flagging me down, or yelling my name from the other side of the house to tell me that I had to come look at something, make a decision, pay more money.

It was a very stressful time. And I had to process a lot during that time. I did not work nearly as much, or as hard, or as efficiently. I was not as dialed in that last half of the year. I did the best that I could. And I had to take care of myself, and I had to take care of my family. But the one thing that I did lean into was the processing of the way that I showed up.

That energetic work that I did on the other side that I’m going to talk to you about. That kept me from my business suffering. I didn’t make less money. I did not suffer. I did not radically change things in my business. I kept things going. I did what I could to the point where I felt good. I delivered for all of my clients.

I delivered at a very high level for all of the people that were counting on me. However, I did not hit the gas. I was not launching several times at the end of the year. There were a lot of things that I planned to do that I didn’t get to do. So what happens when the plan doesn’t work?

What happens when life happens and you can’t execute the plan the way that you planned to? That’s where this stuff comes in. So I’m gonna share with you these two muscles that I want you to build, these two avenues that have to be equally ready for traffic. They have to be built, they have to be in good standing, and we have to have attention and awareness on both of them.

I’m going to give you the five tools that I use, or the five ways that I want you to look at them for each of these pathways. So, the way that you combat this, in order to make more money, I have to work harder. There are two things that you need. The first one is to be more efficient with the way that you work.

It isn’t about not working at all. It’s not about not working at all. It isn’t about sitting on a meditation cushion and waiting for money to show up. I’ve tried that, it doesn’t work. If it works for you, wonderful, I’m so happy for you. It has not worked for me so far. So, it does require work.

But, we learn to work efficiently. We learn to work with our energy rather than against it. We learn to work when it feels right for us and schedule our time in a way where we’re working efficiently, where we get more done in less time. And that’s really what we’re talking about here. So the first thing that I want you to focus on when you’re trying to be more efficient with the way that you work is be intentional.

You have to be intentional with the things that you’re doing. You have to notice from the very start, am I doing something that is sucking my energy out? Am I doing something that is not serving me? Am I wasting time? Cause if you’re doing something for joy, that’s not a waste of time.

And that’s another thing that we have to be looking at, is that we can’t look at taking time for ourselves, taking moments, breaks, opening our energy, doing things that feel good for us, we can’t look at that as not being good for us. But what we do have to do is let go of the things that are truly wasting time.

Scrolling on social media with no purpose. Doing something that you know is not serving you in the moment and not serving really anything else. It’s not bringing you joy, it’s just totally getting you to numb out. Recognize where you’re numbing out. Be intentional with the work that you are doing, with the things that you are doing.

It doesn’t even have to be work. If you’re playing with your kids, play with your kids and enjoy it. Don’t half ass it. Be intentional with the way that you spend your time and the way that you spend your energy. Your energy is your greatest resource. Okay? Learn to operate with your human design strategy, and authority.

This is the easiest and fastest way to become more efficient. Why? Because it is the path of least resistance. That’s ultimately what we are tuning into, is can we get to a path of least resistance where our energy is open, where we are in flow. So generators, if you’re working through your frustration, it’s going to feel awful, it’s going to drain your energy.

It’s not efficient. You pushing through is not efficient. What is more efficient is to do the thing that doesn’t make sense, is to get up and do something that feels good to you in the moment. You will come back to the work with a renewed energy.

Projectors, people talk about taking naps, yes, you need to be rested. But you may have to go be around people and feel what you feel when you’re around people. You may have to go mine your own stuff and figure out what your wisdom is in order to share it. There’s a different way of operating for each type, so find your way. And anyone can tell you to find your way into your work.

But human design gives you this really clear path of saying if you’re this, here’s the things that you should try. Here’s the things for you to experiment with. That’s why we always say this isn’t a dogmatic system, you don’t have to believe in anything, you just have to try it. Use the tools. Try these experiments, try these different ways of operating and see how they work for you.

See how it goes. I’ve yet to find anybody that’s like, it didn’t work. I’ve yet to find anybody that has come to me and told me that, didn’t work. I tried it, I really tried it, and I got nowhere with it. Most people have the opposite, where they think it won’t work, and then they are shocked by the results.

The next thing I want you to do is get more in depth. You can be so much more efficient with the work that you are doing if you are more in depth with your gates, bringing them into your highest expression, understanding your purpose and starting to understand how to position yourself that’s authentic to you.

Position yourself in a way where people will resonate with the things that you are saying. This is how when you say something you get a result rather than saying things over and over and over again and nobody’s listening to you. It will pay dividends for you, and you can find all of this out through your human design.

Who you should be talking to. Who will receive your message is really what we’re telling you. Who are the people that are going to be around you? What is it that you deliver? What’s the message that you naturally deliver? That only you can deliver in the way that you deliver it. When you find what your niche is in the world, the effort goes away.

It becomes so natural. I’m not going to say that it’s no work. That would be lying to you. But it makes it so much more simple and fun. And quite frankly, you get the results, so that makes everything a whole lot more fun. It is so much easier to put time and effort and energy into something when you think it will work.

And when you start to see it work, it opens you up. And then the last thing is learn about your open centers and your defined centers. This is the masculine and feminine energy that you carry. This is learning what your gas and your brake are. It’s learning where you are here to transmit energy and where you receive energy.

When you start to understand this, you start to understand how you can be more productive. We have all of the stuff that we’re offering up on that site as well. So, using your open centers and your defined centers the way that they are meant to be used.

This starts to open up so many things. It starts out as understanding what your gas and brake are. It starts with you deconditioning some of those areas so you’re showing up differently. And then it moves into realizing what you really have to offer people and what people are really drawn to you for.

And that’s part of what they call selling from your centers. That’s where that concept comes from. Because we all have stuff that we are here to transmit, and then we all have stuff that we receive. And when we’re doing those in the right way, and we’re showing up in alignment with that, everything starts to work in a much more efficient fashion.

So the second muscle that I want you to be building is your receiving muscle. This is the energetic part. This is the part that doesn’t involve necessarily as much doing and some of what I mentioned in the last one would apply here as well, like the open centers, they are where you are here to receive.

So understanding how you can receive in those places is going to help with this as well. You’re going to be getting bang for your buck by going through a lot of the things that I gave you in the last section and applying them here as well. So what does it mean to learn to receive? Well, it’s believing it’s possible for more to come to you without effort.

And that’s the first part is you have to start believing in that. You have to start believing that money can come from anywhere. That opportunity can come from anywhere. That just because you spoke with somebody once and they didn’t buy from you doesn’t mean that they are not useful to you anymore.

That the relationships themselves are worth something, that being open to other people, to being open to other opportunities, that they’re all just breadcrumbs, they’re all just starts of something and we don’t know where the next step will take us. We don’t know where one connection could take us a year from now.

It is amazing what we can do when we remain open and we believe that the universe is conspiring to help us always and that every moment that we live in alignment, we are coming closer and closer to the things that we want. So that’s the first one. Believe it’s possible for more to come without effort.

Believe that the universe is conspiring to help you experience everything that you want. There’s a quote that I love. I don’t know who to attribute it to, cause I’ve heard it from so many different people in so many different ways. But I heard Barbara Streisand say this years and years ago, where she said, the moment commitment is made, the universe steps in to assist you.

Can you believe in that? Can you really feel that and feel what it does to you when you say that out loud? Can you feel how that affects you in your energy? How it opens you up? The second thing in being open to receive is have a vision that you believe in. You have to have a vision.

You have to start seeing the future that you want and making it feel real to you. Start to make the unknown known to you. Start to make the unknown feel known to your brain. Stop making it seem so scary out there. Start to really connect with the future that you’re trying to call in. The third thing is gratitude.

Gratitude. Come back to gratitude. At least once a day. Whenever I feel upset, that is my trigger, that is my anchor to remind me to come back to gratitude. What am I upset by? Oh, clients are dropping their memberships. Or this didn’t work out, or this person decided not to sign up, if it has to do with money.

These things are happening in my life. And I’ll think about what am I grateful for. I’m grateful for the clients I do have. I’m grateful for all the people who are getting value now. I’m grateful. I’ll go look at their Instagram accounts. I’ll go look at the clients that I have and I will be so, so grateful for them.

And you know what almost always shows up? Somebody else behind that. Because I did not take the bait to go down that path of, oh my God, it’s all falling apart. I notice if I do, this is why I’ve started to make that an anchor. I used to get caught up in that, what’s going to happen now.

And I get what I’m thinking about. I get more of what I don’t want. So I focus on what I do want. I focus on what I’m grateful for now. That’s the easiest way. And the last thing to build this muscle of receiving is conscious awareness of how you might be pushing away what you want, and how to change your energy around that.

And when you change your energy around it, it changes your behavior naturally around those areas. Now, what do I mean by conscious awareness of how you might be pushing away what you want? You might be unconsciously, out of habit thinking, I want more clients, I want more clients, I want more clients, I want more clients, I want more of this.

Whatever you want more of, look at how you’re treating what you already have in your life. If you want more clients, look at how you’re treating the clients that you have. If you want more engagement, look at your attitude toward the platforms that you’re on, and the people who are on there, and how you are interacting with them.

It will leave clues. If something’s not working, there’s something about the way you’re approaching it, and it’s not necessarily what you’re doing. It’s not that you’re doing something wrong, it’s just I’m not putting my attention there. That’s why they say, like, where attention goes, energy flows.

Where are you putting your attention? What is the quality of that attention, so what is the quality of that energy? When you start to look at life like this, you can start to be more open to receive more. You start to put more value on these things like appreciation. Because you realize what it’s actually doing for you.

It’s not because every book out there tells you to make a gratitude list in the morning. That doesn’t really touch you anywhere. Oprah told me to make a gratitude list every day, so I’m gonna do it. This person I admire does a gratitude list, let me do it.

It almost becomes this tick the box exercise that yields nothing. But when you can really tune into it And when you know why you’re creating the gratitude list, when you’re opening yourself up, and you realize that you are opening to receive, you can have more fun with that practice.

So I hope that you found this helpful. I hope that this episode gave you a way to look at 2024, something to add to all of that strategic planning that you’re doing and looking at it through the lens of these two avenues, these two muscles that we’re going to look to be building.
