Hello, and welcome to Unshakeable with Human Design. I’m your host, Nicole Laino, and it’s just you and me today. We are talking about an oldie but a goodie on here. This is something that I coined the phrase. I coined the term cosmic niche. And I. Because when I discovered it with human design and this particular element of the chart, it was like, oh, this actually really tells your story, and it tells you who’s part of your story, and it tells you so much about who you are, where you’re going, and you in business, especially when we work for ourselves or we want to understand how we interact with people, and we want to know, how do we attract people? Well, who are the people I’m meant to attract? And this was the piece that I kind of honed in on. 

And I coined this term cosmic niche because it’s the people that you were kind of born to help, the people you were born to interact with. And I love it, and I love teaching it. And like, a lot of things with human design. And what I want to explore in this episode is that it caused a lot of confusion for people, my clients and the people who have gone through the work. And so many people get so much clarity from this, and they get like, oh, my God, it’s like the big aha moment. But the people who get confused, they get confused for the same reason. And that’s really what I want to talk about in this episode. I want to break down, why do some people thrive with this information? Why do some people thrive with a system like human design? 

And others struggle? And it really does boil down to just a few things. It really just. It does boil down to. It doesn’t matter about your particular chart. It’s not that projectors have an easier time and manifestors have a harder time. That’s not it at all. I have seen the confusion happen with all shapes, sizes, types, profiles, whatever. And I have seen the alignment happen with all the different pieces with all the different types. Right. But it does boil down to a few very fundamental sort of ways of operating within this. Within this. And I’m going to break that down, and I’m going to break down what the cosmic niche really is, how we look at it. But I’m going to do that in the greater context of how do we make human design work for us? 

How do we really bring this amazing system into ourselves so that we can get what is promised from it? But it’s also just, how do we get more from ourselves in a way that feels really aligned? How do we get closer to our purpose? Because that is the question that most of us are asking. And I want to answer that here as best I can. I want to be able to come at this in a place where you walk away being like, I think I understand either where I’ve gotten it right or where I’ve gotten it wrong. 

Right before I get going, I do want to say, if you’re interested in this topic, if you are interested in using human design with your business, if you are interested in living your purpose and monetizing that purpose and putting it out in the world and being seen as a thought leader, this is going to be a different conversation. While I still teach the same things, this is a very different masterclass and it is intentionally created because I wanted to have a more elevated conversation around human design, around business. 

And I really want this to be about the changes that we see happening with 2027 coming and all of the shifts that we’re seeing in the both the material world and the energetic world. What are we seeing in the business industry? What are we seeing with the online business industry? Where are we seeing things going? Where we see it in our politics and all the things that are happening in the world, where are we seeing things go with social media, all of these aspects. So having that more broader view of what’s going on in the macro environment, but then also, you know, being able to have this deeper conversation about thought leadership, about really stepping up into your leadership and thought leadership and doing this, you know, and having an elevated conversation around human design, around what it really takes. 

And this episode is sort of set up for that in a lot of ways. This is kind of a start of that conversation that we’re going to finish in the masterclass and we’re going to go in depth. All of the aspects of running a business where you feel like you are. And I’m calling this masterclass the Expanded Leader. And the reason is because it’s not just about leadership and it’s not just about expansion. It’s about the two together. Everything that I do is a blend of strategy and energy, a blend of the esoteric with the more linear, the masculine and the feminine. This will be very much in alignment with that, but I’m really weaving the two of them together rather than breaking them apart.

Okay, so let’s talk about this. Let’s talk about the cosmic niche. And, you know, I’m titling this. You know, what it really means to understand your cosmic niche. And this is getting at that bigger question because what we’re really talking about when we start to dig into our human design chart, there are two aspects to this. There is the mechanical aspect of using human design. Okay. You know, which is like your strategy and authority, understanding your conditioning. How do I operate correctly as myself? That’s what human design is meant to do, right? That is basically take you out of your head, put you into your body, get you answering questions about what you should do in life from your body instead of from your mind. How do we get you to get out of the program where you’re thinking about everything all the time. 

You’re wondering if you’re going to get it right. You’re wondering if you got it wrong the last time. You are so worried you’re future tripping into, you know, next week, next year. You’re worrying about the past. All of that’s in the head. And human design is to take you and bring you right back into this moment so you can understand how your energy interacts with people and you can start to have the energetic conversation that is happening, whether you know it or not. We’re all having energetic conversation with each other. We Just don’t know it yet. And then you become conscious of that. And now how do we start to have that energetic conversation with ourselves where we’re leading out ourselves differently? Right. It’s really awesome. That is the mechanical aspect of it. 

But then there is the other aspect, which is the more feminine side of things, which is the more esoteric. I consider this. This really comes from my Gene Keys training. So I’m a gene Keys guide and without the gene keys, I don’t know if I would. I would do human design. I don’t know if I would teach it because I don’t know if I could because the mechanics of what human design is are amazing. But they don’t get you to. Most of what I teach is very much Gene Keys based in the sense that it is contemplative, it is discovery based. And I don’t know if human design really puts the emphasis on that. Human design is just like, shut up and just do it the way that you’re supposed to do it. Shut up and follow your strategy and authority. Which is fine. 

Oh, you’re a undefined ego. Don’t try to prove yourself anymore. There’s like the just rules. And I have been speaking with people recently and they’re like, yeah, actually I don’t like the rules. That’s actually part of what turned me off to human design for a long time was it felt very masculine and it felt very rigid and it felt very rules based. And to me, I don’t find that’s where people find themselves. I don’t find that’s where they find their magic. I don’t find that’s where they find alignment. I don’t find that it’s where they find success. They might find a little bit of peace that they might be able to do, but they are not finding what they hope to find and everything that we promise and that we talk about with all of this. 

So what we’re really doing with human design is we are decoding your genius. That’s what it’s all about. And I couldn’t do that work with people without the gene keys. So let’s dive into this a little bit. So when someone comes to me and they’re like, I want to know what my cosmic niche is and maybe they take our cosmic niche course or they’re in BBD and they’re going through that coursework in there where we’re helping them find that. A lot of times they’re looking for answer, they’re looking to find out, okay, well, who are the. That I’m supposed to help? And they’re so fixated on the answer. The like, who is it? How do I define them? What do I put on my sales page? And that’s not where the magic comes from. That’s not where the clarity comes from. 

I might know that I help entrepreneurs. That doesn’t really help me at all. And this is when we get into messaging, because really what human design is helping you do, it’s helping you message what you do better. It’s helping you understand how you help people. It’s helping you understand what your gifts are. And that will both be a magnetic draw that people have to you or that you have to them, that you’re pulling them in with that. With the truth of what you’re saying, with the frequency of what you are delivering. But it’s also how you speak about what you do. It’s how you message it. And that comes from a much deeper place than just knowing their demographics, than just knowing, you know, oh, it’s entrepreneurs, oh, it’s doctors. That doesn’t really help. 

I know that I help entrepreneurs, but if that was the only thing that I knew, then I’d be in a lot of trouble. I don’t think you’d be listening to this show. You listen to this show because I understand my design so well that I’ve discovered what it is that you need to hear. And if you don’t need to hear it, then you’re probably not my person. And then you will self select out of my world or you will just listen to the things that do resonate with you. But you’re not going to be like one of my people that’s like, I have to work with you. But I have so many those people who do find me and they do come to me and they do because they’re like, you have something that I really need, that it’s resonating with me deeply. 

I have people tell me that all the time. I had three people tell me that today. Three different people I had never met told me that they had to work with me. That the way that I taught and the things that I talked about and the way that I approached this work spoke to them so deeply that they had to work with me that they booked these calls and they were sitting down and were having these conversations. So decoding your genius is cosmic niche is one piece of decoding your genius. It is one critical piece. We have the incarnation cross. We have the authority matrix that I’ve been talking about for a long time. But we could look at the whole chart. Every chart is different, and every chart has different things that are going to be the most important, the most significant. 

And you know what determines that? You. You are that deciding factor. I never know until I start. When I do readings and business readings with people, I always say to them, I’m like, this isn’t the Nicole show. Like, I’m gonna talk, but I want you to be offering things. I want you to tell me what’s coming up for you. I want you to be a participant in this, because that’s where we’re gonna really get somewhere. If you start telling me something about you, then I can tell you something about your chart, and then I can ask you a question, and then you can have a new answer. And now we’ve gotten somewhere. That’s the fun. And that’s what I do with my clients inside all of my containers where we’re having these back and forths. Why? Because that’s what it’s all about. 

That’s what decoding your genius is. It isn’t about reading a gate and understanding what the gate means. It’s what the gate means to you and how it has affected your life and how you have developed a relationship to it and what that relationship is. Most people are looking in the chart for answers, and they’ll keep looking even when they’re not finding it. They’re looking for answer. But the thing with that is that the answer is not in the chart. The answer’s in you. And you don’t get the answer out with more answers. You get the answer out with better questions. And that is the power that human design and I think the Gene Keys really offers this, is that we can ask better questions. I even had it on a connection call that I did with somebody. 

I’m asking them questions and I can hear their design talking. So I can point out ways that they are misaligned. I can point out things that are coming out, but it’s what they take from that matters. It’s not the answer I gave them. It’s what that answer does to them and how it affects them both operating going forward and then also just understanding themselves. So, like, oh, I really do have this to offer somebody. My cosmic niche has a very specific message that is always evolving. By the way, if it were just answer, it would have been the same the whole time. It would have been the same the that I read it and be the Same today. There would be no difference. But that’s not true. It’s evolved over time. I see it differently all the time. Why? 

Because I’m interacting with it and I’m interacting with people, and I’m allowing it to work through me. That’s what your whole chart does. Whether you’re looking at your astrology chart or you’re looking at your human design chart, it doesn’t matter in your human design chart what we’re looking at. If we’re looking at gates and we’re looking at the authority matrix and we’re looking at your cosmic ditch, and we’re looking at all these things, these are things that are yours, that are working through you all the time. Well, what did you learn from them? What are the experiences you have with them? What’s a gift that you are taking for granted that you think everybody has, but they don’t? That’s what you uniquely offer. And it isn’t that you have, you know, the gate of the fighter and you have fight in you. 

It’s going to be about, you know, what has your experience been with purpose and feeling maybe like there’s a deep connection to purpose in life, and maybe at times feeling like, what’s the point? Because nothing has any purpose. And that being a tremendous fear. Those questions start to tease out what is there for you, these foundational things that when you say them, when you talk to somebody about them, they are feeling that on a very deep level. It’s what I am doing here. You just don’t know it. You don’t know that I am operating through my design the way that I am, because it’s in my body. I’m not thinking about it because that’s really the level that we need to get to. 

And that’s what we’re going to talk about in the expanded Leader Masterclass is we’ll talk about all these things, but it is the embodiment of them all that makes it work. That’s where as you deepen your connection to this work, as you deepen your connection to your chart and what’s actually in it and your connection to it, as that grows and you embody it more and more, you’ll find that people are finding you easier and easier, that things are shifting. I never know where things are going, but I trust that the right things are coming to me. As long as I’m aligned, that’s all we can hope to get to. There are no guarantees. I don’t know what my destiny is. 

I just know I’m Here to do the things that I’m doing until something else presents itself and then I’m meant to do something else. That’s all we know. That’s an intuitive business, that’s an intuitive life. So I hope that this came through. I hope that you see that the chart is a starting point. The chart is a way for you to relate to yourself in a different way and start to see what you have to offer every single person who listens to this show. I talk to a lot of you throughout the years. I have sat down with so many of you through connection calls, seen you in masterclasses. You’ve been part of some of our programs, some of the masterclasses that we run. Some of you have joined the Human Design Authority lab. 

So I’m getting to see you in there, which is super exciting. And you know the interactions we’ve had. I know that you are thought leaders. You have something deep to offer. There’s no question about that. In fact, usually that’s the problem, is that the shallowness of what it feels like, how we feel like we have to create is what stops you, because it feels shallow. But you have this depth and you have this potential and you feel like it’s not quite there yet. I’m not able to quite tease it out or pull it out of me yet. And I get that. And it’s this work. 

Not the work of getting it all right, not the work of just figuring it out, but of connecting with your chart in a very specific way that I work with people to really start to discover yourself through the lens of this chart, to look at your life and understand what your really here for. That’s how you find it. That’s how you find the courage to put yourself out there. That’s how you find the words that aren’t seeming to come. That’s where they come from. They come from inside of you. But there is greater discovery that we have to go through a lot of times, many of us, in order to unlock that within us and what it is that’s holding you back. Some people, it’s the type and it’s just like they haven’t really figured out how to work with their type yet. 

And some people, it’s their authority and some people, it. You know, most people, it’s a combination of a lot of these things. Some people, a few gates that need to lock into place. Some people, it’s the cosmic niche exit into place. I know I had so many that I had to work with in order to really step into what I do today. And I know there’s probably gonna be so much more for where I’m going, but this is the journey. 

So I hope that it got you excited because this is what we’re gonna be breaking down is this artistry of how to become an expanded leader, to not lead from a linear mental place, but from a place of true alignment, to really discover who you are, to discover your thought leadership through the lens of your human design and through looking at your life, really being able to ground into that. And how do we make a business from that one that actually pays you? And how does this all tie in with where we’re going as a collective, where the business landscape is going, where the online landscape is going, where social is going? How do we fit into all of that?
